Last weekend, Dad and I ventured up to Northumberland.
I was asked to photograph a newly launched bed and breakfast ran by my close friend’s parents, for their new website! I knew this was going to be a wonderful trip, so I asked Dad to join me.

We had a lovely stay at Chevoit Villa in Wooler and Gavin was kind enough to take us on a drive of Northumberland where he shared his knowledge of the area, its amazing history and memories of his childhood in and around the Cheviot Hills. For any keen walkers or cyclists, this area has to be at the top of your adventure list! There is an endless horizon of rolling hills on one side and then sandy dunes and sea air towards the coast! I have never seen such a variety of habitats in one place! Breath taking!

Then after a hearty breakfast, Dad and I ventured out to see the Farne Islands! Thanks to Billy Shields boat trips, we saw a whole manner of sea life, Puffins, Grey Seals, Razorbills, Guillimots and not forgetting my old friend the Gannet. I studied them on the Bass Rock for my dissertation so I got a touch of nostalgia when I saw them again.

As my homepage says, my photography obsession grew from my love of nature and combining the two is always a joy for me!! Never mind the Wildlife, Neptune Fish and Chips were the scrummiest ending to an awesome trip!
